"The more translucent, ruby-colored 2017 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard comes from a vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley and was all destemmed before spending 16 months in 44% new French oak. Classic raspberry, forest floor, sweet spice, and sappy floral notes all flow to a medium-bodied, vibrant, incredibly classy effort. It's balanced, has integrated acidity, and a great finish. It’s another terrific Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara County that’s going to evolve for at least a decade."

"The tang of pomegranate cuts through the layers of fresh thyme, dewy sage, Earl Grey tea and singed tobacco on the nose of this bottling. Similar flavors consume the palate, where bright acidity cuts into the dried sage and crisp red fruits."

"The 2017 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard is lithe, sensual and quite delicate, with pretty floral and savory notes that give the wine its distinctive upper register. Sweet dried cherry, dried flowers, mint and licorice add nuance. In the glass, the Julia's is a touch ethereal and fleeting. I would prefer to drink it sooner rather than later."

We were told by the tasting room staff at Foxen that Julia's Vineyard is always the first of all their Pinot Noirs to sell out. We can understand why! It is absolutely DELICIOUS! And with only 424 cases produced, it gets snatched up quickly. Get it while you can!
