Many Pinot Noir lovers have never tried a Pinot from the Santa Cruz Mountains. It's an ideal region for this cool-weather grape - a ridgeline that parallels the Pacific Ocean between Monterey and San Francisco. This wonderful Sant Cruz Mtn.'s Pinot from Lightpost Winery boasts a lively acidity, which makes it a great "food" wine. (It even goes really well with Italian dishes!)  The delicious fruit, mineral, and earthy flavors are nicely balanced. Oh, what a find this wine is! And icing on the cake - it will age quite well!

FROM THE WINERY

This is a delicate Pinot Noir, with aromas of rose petal notes, tart plum flesh and earthy notes. The palate is full of red cherry, blending notes of sagebrush raspberry and hint of strawberry. The vineyard is located 4 miles from the ocean in the Santa Cruz Mountains with coastal influence, surrounded by ancient redwoods.

This elegant and semi full-bodied wine integrates lots of red fruits mixed with vanilla, forest floor aromatics, and is supported by velvety and soft tannins, making this wine easy drinking on release, but will offer even more rewards after a few years in your cellar. Simply put, just a classic Pinot Noir from the Santa Cruz Mountains.
