Red Car "Heaven and Earth" Bohemian Station Pinot Noir 2014

Sonoma Coast, CA

Red Car was rated one of Wine & Spirits Magazine's top 100 Wineries in 2017!

The 2014 Heaven and Earth is truly "heaven in a glass." We absolutely LOVE this wine. Incredibly delicious from beginning to end, it is the perfect example of why boutique Sonoma Coast Pinots have become so popular. Elegant, with just the right amount of minerality to let you know it's a Sonoma Coast wine, it is definitely Burgundian in style. And such nice clarity and color, too! It's really difficult to craft a Pinot Noir of this quality. Hats off to you, Red Car!

Red Car is focused on growing Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Syrah in a network of cold-climate vineyards on the edge of the Pacific in the West Sonoma Coast. We are hands-on farmers, part of a small cadre of wineries in our region who are fortunate to grow a large majority of our own fruit. For several years now we have worked hard to go beyond sustainability and have integrated the concepts and principles of organic, biodynamic and permaculture systems into our farming as we search for nature’s ideal pathways. Our wines are made in small lots utilizing minimalist intervention techniques like native yeast fermentation, gravity flow, and natural acid.

BOHEMIAN STATION VINEYARD: Red Car has been crafting Heaven & Earth longer than any other Pinot Noir bottling. Since the inaugural 2007 vintage, it has developed quite a following among our loyal mailing list members and is typically the first of our Pinot Noirs to completely sell out. The wine comes from the small 4.5 acre Bohemian Station Vineyard, in the heart of the Occidental region, planted to our exact specifications in 2004 using the Calera, Pommard and 828 clones. The 2014 vintage will prove to be another favorite vintage for fans of Heaven and Earth. The blocks of Calera - characteristically a riper, smaller berry - form the backbone of this luscious Pinot Noir. This heritage clone is highly concentrated and helps define the site-specific expression of this velvety, sumptuous wine. It epitomizes the concept of "cool sunshine" and consistently offers a perfect balance between power and acidity.
