"Pouring a deep magenta/ruby hue, the 2022 Pinot Noir Cahill Lane Vineyard is ripe but has wonderful purity throughout and was raised the same way as the other reds, with 24% new French oak. On the nose, it is ripe with toasty spice, spiced plum, black cherries, menthol, and rosemary. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate and expands, with a ripe feel, but it retains good balance and is a decadent wine with a lot to offer over the next 6-8 years. 387 cases were produced."

Walter Hansel ranks right up there as one of our all-time favorite producers from the Russian River Valley. This vintage of Cahill Lane Vineyard really "hits the sweet spot" for us! It's got a lively up-front spiciness to it, (which we love), which smooths out into velvety silkiness, ending in a nice long finish. Oh, what a beauty! - Wine Factor

FROM THE WINERY

Cahill Lane Pinot Noir: A blend of 3 separate acres surrounding the Hansel home. It consists of one acre of Rochioli Pommard clone, one acre of clone 115 and one acre of clone 114.

Vinification:  All pinot noir is stainless steel fermented after a 5-7 day cold soak with punchdowns 3 times daily. Whole clusters are employed in only a few tanks at 5%. Barrels are 60% new Francois Freres and the remainder 1 year old. The wine is aged in barrel for 12 months and settled in tank for 2 months.
