Failla Anderson Valley Savoy Vineyard Pinot Noir 2024
750 ml
93 pts. Wine Spectator:
“This offers a generous feel as lightly mulled black cherry and blackberry fruit unveils black tea, singed anise and iris notes that spread out steadily through the savory- and dark earth–tinged finish. Best from 2027 through 2033."
This wine is a lovely representation of the Anderson Valley. The Savoy vineyard is located right in the middle of the valley - where it's not too hot and not too cold. The winemaker used whole clusters in the fermentation, which we love - it seems to really add complexity to Pinots. And only 20% of the oak barrels were new, so the natural flavors of the grapes shine through without being dominated by the oak. Such a delicious wine! Pairs fantastically with poultry. - Wine Factor
FROM THE WINERY
SAVOY VINEYARD was planted by original owner Rich Savoy between 1991 and 1994. We receive a selection massale from the vineyard, ensuring that we get the most complexity and the truest reflection of the Savoy Vineyard. This vineyard is biodynamically farmed.
The 2024 VINTAGE is a return to a more classic California. Vineyards, buoyed by abundant winter rain, emerged replenished and resilient. The vines enjoyed a balanced, mostly cool summer, allowing us to pick at optimum ripeness. The wines showcase grace, structure, dense aromas and a promise of tremendous longevity.
EHREN JORDAN is a true vigneron with decades of combined experience in cellars and vineyards from the Rhône Valley to Paso Robles, Sonoma County and Willamette Valley. Obsessive hands-on farming practices and minimalist hands- off winemaking allow site, variety, and vintage to be the true navigator of each expression.
