Failla Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2022

750 ml
94 pts. James Suckling:

"Aromas of red earth and savory herbs hint at the profound minerality on the palate, with taut acidity and flavors of dried cranberries and rose petals. Medium- to light-bodied with chalky tannins and a savory finish. Drink or hold."

This outstanding Pinot Noir is a bargain and a half! We love the lively spiciness up front followed by lip-smacking good, ripe red fruit flavors. Failla has good connections for sourcing grapes - all the vineyards that contributed to this Willamette Valley blend are top-notch. Excellent winemaking (we love the 25% whole cluster use, which adds complexity to the wine) and great grapes resulted in a fabulous Pinot! - Wine Factor

FROM THE WINERY
2022 PINOT NOIR, WILLAMETTE VALLEY

Bright and vibrant with notes of pomegranates, juicy red fruit, cherries, pomegranate, and dried herbs. A wine appealing to all palates.

THE VINEYARDS represented in this bottling are a stellar representation of quality farming, mature vines and the distinct terroir of cool climates and distinctive soils that brings Pinot Noir to life. Four impeccable vineyards from the Northern Willamette Valley - Amity Hills, Seven Springs, Bjornson and Eola Springs - are sourced for this bottling.

EHREN JORDAN is a true vigneron with decades of combined experience in cellars and vineyards from the Rhône Valley to Paso Robles, Sonoma County to the Willamette Valley. Obsessive hands-on farming practices and minimalist hands-off winemaking allow site, variety, and vintage to be the true navigator of each expression.

THE 2022 VINTAGE saw a significant variation between seasons, with a warm winter and a cold, wet spring culminating in a late frost and resulting in a small crop. The vintage benefited from a long warm fall and created fruit both concentrated and intense. Failla picked everything off the vine in a short window to achieve balanced and outstanding wines.
