FROM THE WINERY
Vineyards:

Our Fighting Brothers Pinot Noir is a blend of three renowned Sonoma Coast vineyards: Gap’s Crown, Roberts Road and Durell. Individually all three offers ideal Pinot-growing terroir and impeccable farming. Together they produce a wine of extraordinary depth and complexity, displaying the site synergy celebrated in our line of Fighting Brothers vineyard blends. Fighting Brothers is named for my two sons, who’ve managed to blend their many differences into something approaching harmony.

Winemaking:

Our Fighting Brothers Pinot Noir was harvested in the early morning and transported immediately to the winery, where the grapes were de-stemmed into small open top tanks for three days of cold soak at approximately 45F. After the must warmed and started fermentation, we inoculated with a low rate of Romanee-Conti yeast, punching down three to five times daily. Once fermentation was complete, the wine was pressed to 40% new French oak for a total of 18 months in barrel. The wine was bottled unfined.

Tasting Notes:

Bright floral tones and red fruit, Bing cherry, slight plum as well as dark chocolate. Very long finish.
